Speciality Hollow Fiber Membrane Distillation:

Speciality Hollow fibre Membrane distillation (MD) is a separation process where a micro-porous hydrophobic membrane separates two queous solutions at different temperatures. The hydrophobicity of the membrane prevents mass transfer of the liquid, whereby a gas-liquid interface is created.

It requires feed temperature up to 65 degree c and air as driving force.
Recovery such as phenol from water, hexane, and heptane from lube oil, acetic acid from water stream, thus we can recover any solvent from aqueous stream with the help of MD.
Features: Very low requirement of heating, no vacuum, saves energy with less space requirement.
Application area: Process Industry, Pharma Industry, Chemical Industry.
